What Will Happen if We do Nothing?

Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors; give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Because they regard not the works of the LORD...

Blessed be the LORD, because He hath heard the voice of my supplications. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped.

Psalms 28:4-7, KJV

Have you wondered what will happen if we do nothing about the condition of the world in which we live? Have you thought about what kind of a world we will be leaving to our children and grandchildren if we continue to stand idly by and let the children of this world overwhelm the children of God? If you haven't, then consider this a wakeup call.

Those who have been entrusted with leadership have failed. The streets are literally becoming filled with open crime and it is unsafe for the innocent to walk them in many of our cities. The borders have not only been opened to illegal trafficking, we have discovered in the past few years that our own government has literally been boarding illegal immigrants on airplanes and landing them in various American airports, often in the wee hours of the morning. We know this is true because they freely admit it.

In many areas, a person can leave their home for a day or so and return to find it occupied by criminal trespassers. Some municipalities have taken the side of these "squatters" in many states, suggesting that the homeowners find another place to live. In several recent cases, news reports indicate that the legal owner has called for law enforcement to remove these miscreants, only to find that the police have been instructed to arrest them instead of the criminals. Recent items in the news also have various accounts in various states of children being removed from their homes because their parents would not recognize their preferred gender.

"Thanks for the cheery message", you might be thinking. But this is not a message intended to make you feel comfortable with the evil that is taking over our nation - it is a call to wake up before it is too late!

One of the things that I like about reading from the Psalms on a regular basis is that it contains a blueprint for those with enough courage and concern to do the right thing. About half of these Psalms are attributed to David and if you know anything about David you understand that He was a man who loved God and who protected the innocent from the wicked. Now, I don't want you to get the wrong idea, for he did not just go around indiscriminately attacking those he disagreed with.

But, he did have a plan!

That plan was two-fold. First, he prayed to God and pleaded for His righteous intervention. His hope was certainly that the wicked repent but. barring that, David would regularly pray that these wicked men be punished by God so that they would harm the innocent no more. And then David, whether he was in the position of king or shepherd boy, would take a righteous stand against the wicked. Why? Because he knew that it was the right thing to do! And he was not afraid!

We look around at our sin-soaked society and think that there is nothing that we can do - but we are wrong! We do not have to accept illegal invasions - upon American soil or in our homes - that is aided and abetted by people in positions of authority. We do not have to allow children to be removed by anyone, be they kidnappers or "proper authorities", in order to allow these deviants to misuse those to whose care we have been entrusted. We do not have to accept our neighborhoods being overrun with open crimes that endanger those who are law abiding. We think that our hands are tied because wicked men are too strong, but we are sadly misinformed.

But, like David, we will need a plan.

So what can we do? We can start praying to God that He help these evil doers to turn from their evil conduct and if they won't, we can ask that God punish them so that their wicked conduct will stop harming the innocent. We must be warned that before we can pray such a prayer that we will have to repent ourselves, for only the wicked would allow these things to happen... and we have done just that.

Then, we can stop being afraid and start to speak out on things that are clearly wrong. "But I might become a target" we will fearfully say, but consider this: Who do you want to be a target - our children and grandchildren, or those to whom God has given the duty to protect them? We can vote out these evil men and women from power, and if we find that they won't go then we stop recognizing them as proper authorities. Most of us would not allow "squatters" to illegally inhabit our homes. Why should we allow squatters to illegally inhabit positions of authority?

I'm not suggesting that we run out and start resorting to violence, but I am saying that it is time to start taking a stand. We are letting our country rot while we timidly and fearfully hide in the shadows, hoping that these evil men and women do not take notice of us. And by doing so we have essentially taken the innocent and offered them as tribute to the wicked... and it is time to stop.

So, at the very least, can we not do these simple things? First, repent. Second, pray. Third, speak up. Fourth, vote. Fifth, take a righteous stand. Sixth, be determined that you will stop worrying about what wicked men will do to you and start being concerned with what they will do to the innocent if you continue to do nothing. For, if we continue to do nothing, these evil men and women will continue to prey upon the weakest and most innocent among us, and then they will come after you. We better start taking a righteous stand before it is too late, but take courage. For with God it is never too late for those who are willing to turn from evil and do the right thing!

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31, KJV

One more thing: I will try to write on more cheerful matters tomorrow. But I do believe that we need to start thinking about these things today.
