"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband."

Revelation 22:1-2, NIV

It is hard to live all of our lives here on earth and be able to grasp what the apostle John reveals about the end times, but it is important to think about the promise that is given here. There really will be an end to our lives - whether we are alive until the second coming of Christ or we die prior to that great day - there is an end time for us all.

The wise man should ask himself, "What, then?" The beauty is that we don't have to wonder. The inspired word of God reveals that the faithful who die in Christ will spend their eternity with God in Heaven.

It is hard to imagine, but God compares our first glimpse of heaven to our first glimpse of our bride on our wedding day. I still remember seeing my bride, beautifully dressed and coming down the aisle to pledge to spend the rest of her life with me...

It was overwhelming! And though totally unworthy, I was very, very, happy!

It will be like that on the final day - God tells us this, and we believe it. We know that we don't deserve heaven - each one of us has earned the other eternal dwelling place - yet God has given us the opportunity to be with Him in heaven forever.

And though totally unworthy, this should make us very, very, happy!

It should also make us very determined to do everything in our power to make sure that we do not miss this great day.

This is why we have been studying! And, if we are wise, it is why we will continue to study for the rest of our time here on earth!

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.'"

Revelation 21:3-4, NIV

Today is the 89th day of the 90 day challenge to study through the New Testament, with the reading for today being Revelation 17-19. If you have made it this far, then you have done something that will change your life forever. May God continue to richly bless your efforts as you seek to be with Him and Jesus, for all eternity.
