Day 36: Count the Cost

The cost of a thing is the amount of what I will call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run. Thoreau

Christianity is the most important commitment that a person will make in life. It is more important than committing to a new job, a big move, and even marriage. Since the decision to become a Christian and then live as a Christian is a lifelong commitment, it should not be entered into lightly or without thorough investigation. This is the 36th of 40 days in this series of changing your life for God and I would encourage you to re-read and study the Scriptures on each proposition made thus far. So, have you counted the costs for this new life yet? You really should prior to committing the rest of your life to Christ.

And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it.

Jesus, as recorded in Luke 14:27-28, NKJV
