Day 12: Don't Fret

For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind. Emerson

While there is no question that those who are living as Christians will have a peace that is a direct fruit of the spirit, that does not eliminate our responsibility to cultivate that peace. One way we do so is to refrain from fret and anger. Changing your life for God goes way beyond a mere intellectual exercise - it requires effort on our part and that means doing our best not to worry or fret or become unnecessarily angry. Easy to say yet hard to do, I know, but the decision to let Christ rule your life will spur you on to make those efforts. And... the fruit will be a peace of mind that most men will never know.

Do not fret because of evil men... Trust in the Lord and do good... Delight yourself in the Lord... Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him...  Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret... Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret - it only leads to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

David, as recorded in Psalms 37:1-8, NIV (Read the whole passage and just see if it does not give you peace of mind!)
