The Health Care Law and Abortion

I frankly don't care if you agree with my stand on abortion. I take that stand because no other stand is consistent with decent principles, and no other standard is consistent with the will of God. Alan Keyes

I like Alan Keyes. I voted for him when he ran for president, because of his willingness to take an unapologetic stand whenever such a stand was necessary. I don't like Barack Obama. He, too, is willing to take unapologetic stands, but so many of those stands are for standards that are not consistent with the will of God.

Perhaps no other issue exposes this flaw of character as does the health care bill. It allows taxpayers to pay for abortion, in fact, it requires them to. How is that, you may ask. The president has clearly stated that you don't have to pay for abortion if you don't want to.

This is a lie.

Universal health care requires that everyone take part. All of our tax money goes into the same basic pool. Since money is fungible, part of the money you pay will go to paying for abortions. You can argue until you are blue in the face that this is not so, but consider this: Does it really matter if you take a gallon of water from the deep end or the shallow end of the pool? Isn't the pool one gallon emptier regardless of which end you take it out of? And, if all Americans have to take part in health care, and the government will pay for people too poor to pay for it themselves, and if some of those poor people choose plans that offer abortion, and you are a tax payer... isn't it true that you are paying for abortions?

The nation of Israel decided that they could take part in the sacrifice of their babies, once upon a time, so God destroyed them. Do you think that He will really allow us to take part in abortion in modern times? It is time to take a stand!

They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood. They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves. Therefore the Lord was angry with His people and abhorred His inheritance. Psalms 106:37-39, NIV
