"Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine."

I Timothy 4:13, NKJV

 

How honest are you? How courageous? How diligent? The reason I ask these questions is that I want to challenge you in the next thirty days to read the New Testament all the way through. It will take you at least one half hour per day for these thirty days, so you will have to be diligent and committed to the task or perhaps you shouldn't even try. Some of the passages will challenge what you already believe. You might even have preconceived notions that may have their roots in generations of misunderstanding. So if you do not have the courage to change when you clearly see that your beliefs have been mistaken, then maybe you shouldn't even start.

 

There will be parts of the Gospel that absolutely contradict the very core of the doctrine of some. So if you are not honest enough with yourself to at least admit the possibility that you might be wrong in some of your beliefs, then don't even dare to pick up the Holy Bible:

 

The Word of God is simply not for the slothful nor the cowardly nor the dishonest in heart.

 

But if you are different and have the honest desire to live in a better way than you are living now, then may I encourage you to commit to God that you will read the New Testament through in the next thirty days.

 

No matter how young we may be, none of us know how many more years God will give us here on earth. But, we do know this: We want to be in Heaven with our Lord and Savior for all eternity!

 

Therefore it is critical, should we find that our understanding has been wrong, for us to change because God will not! We are not here on this planet to be perceived as being right when we are wrong. We are here to serve God in His way. We are here to find His will and do it. We are on our way to Heaven, so we have to make sure.

 

Do you have thirty days to do something really significant in your life? Then take up this thirty-day challenge. It will change your life!

 

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved. A workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."
