We Need Courage - Day 18

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

I Corinthians 6:9-11, NIV

We live in a world where the only "sin" is to say that there is sin. If you dare to say things like sexual immorality are sin, people go into a frenzy. How dare you judge, they will scream, They will bully you in any way they can to get you to admit that their perversion is normal, that their evil is good, that there sin is righteousness. Entire churches have bought into this lie, promoting themselves as inclusive of everything and everybody, as long as that "everybody" is not someone who believes that there is sin.

We also live in a world where people "identify". They identify as things they are not, things that were laughable just a few years ago. But now, call these people out for what they are, delusional, high-handed, and liars, and they will try to have you fired, arrested, or both.

And most people have been terrorized into silence by these loud mouthed bullies, and as a result our society is falling apart. Do you know why? Consider the following warning from the Word of God:

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!

Isaiah 5:20-21, ESV

The word defined "woe" in this passage signifies excessive sorrow brought about by a curse from God. Just as God's blessing brings joy, God's curse brings sorrow. Those who have the audacity to call evil "good", and good "evil" will suffer woe in this life. They do so because they have become so wise in their own eyes that they actually sit in judgment upon God's righteous decrees and find Him to be lacking. We see it all the time and now this beautiful creation of God is turning into a cesspool of sin. Aren't you tired of living like this? If not, are you not at least concerned for your innocent children and grandchildren who will suffer at the hands of sinners who have been given the reins of authority?

One of the reasons that we are reading God's Word is to find out what God considers right and wrong. He is the standard, not an opinion. His way is not "a way" it is "the way". And it is the way in which we will be judged on that final day, despite what the hypocrites of our modern, politically correct world are saying to the contrary. We are reading, in part, to take back our society from the clutches of Satan, the evil one who is in control of so much of this world at the present time. We can take it back, you know this in your heart, for God will help us. But, it will take courage... do we have any left?

Today's reading is Romans 16 through I Corinthians 8. These inspired passages have a lot to say about good and evil, and it behooves us to listen. Woe to us if we do not!
