Day 3: We Answer to a Higher Court

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." Proverbs 14:34, NIV

"Then the Lord said, 'Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave, I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry which has come to Me, if not, I will know.'" Genesis 18:20-21, RSV

"Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; and He overthrew those cities..." Genesis 19:24-25, RSV

"If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." Leviticus 20:13, NIV

"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion... Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them." Romans 1:26-27; 32, NIV

Homosexuality is one of the very few practices that was condemned as sin during each of the three dispensations of God's dealing with mankind. God destroyed a community of homosexuals during the Patriarchal Dispensation by raining down fire and brimstone from heaven. God made homosexuality a capital offense during the Mosaic Dispensation.

During the Christian Dispensation we are told that homosexuals - like all other sinners - are worthy of death, as are those who approve of their practices. I believe that if you examine the context in Romans that you will see this is a spiritual (eternal) death that is being referred to here. As you might suspect, the spiritual death penalty is far worse than the physical one.

On June 26, 2015 the Supreme Court of the United States of America ruled (with open contempt for God's Word, it should be noted) that sodomites can now marry in our land. The President immediately showed his solidarity with sodomites and the perverse men and women of the Supreme Court of the United States of America by lighting up the White House with "rainbow colors". In May of 2016, the "Justice" Department began threatening states that do not allow men to use the restrooms with our wives and daughters.

But, going back to the rainbow, perhaps they forget what it rainbow signifies: Specifically it is a reminder that God will never destroy the earth by flood waters again, but more generally it is a sign of His faithfulness in keeping His word... and He will, you must know, He will keep His word!

That's why I intend to ignore the Supreme Court of the United States of America's defiance of God - because I believe that God is faithful in carrying out His promises. If you believe the same way, let me encourage you also to defy this wicked support of sodomy.

"Why?", you might ask. Why should you risk the penalties of defying the Supreme Court of the United States of America?

Because you answer to a Higher Court!

This is why we read all of the Bible - otherwise, how would we know?

"And Lot went out, and spake to his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, 'Up, get you up out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city.' But he seemed as one who mocked unto his sons in law." Genesis 19:14, KJV

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall also reap." Galatians 6:7, KJV

Today is day 3 of the thirty day challenge to read through the Books of Moses, with the reading for today consisting of Genesis 15-21. May God richly bless your efforts as you seek to find the rulings of the true "Supreme Court"!
