Day 25: The Time Has Come

Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground;

for it is time to seek the LORD,

until He comes and showers righteousness on you.

Hosea 10:12, NIV

Even if the books of the prophets of God were not so packed with insight and wisdom and knowledge, they would be worth reading just for this one passage:

It Is Time to Seek the LORD!

Just think how your life would change if you lived by the standard, "It Is Time". Do you think that this type of attitude would help you with your day to day physical challenges? For example, do you think that with such an attitude that you could give up that bad habit? Do you think with such a philosophy you could lose weight and get healthier? Do you think that with such a commitment that you could finally stop going into debt and start saving for the future?

With this absolute commitment, do you think that you could finally win the battle over that sin that has held you in bondage for all of your life?

There is no question that you could do all of these things and more, if you really lived this way because there is unlimited power in the determination that "It Is Time"! But the greatest power in this truth is in the precise way that it is used in the inspired book of the prophet Hosea: It is time to seek the LORD!

It begins with breaking up that unplowed soul of yours and planting the seeds of righteousness. What are the seeds of righteousness? Well, you have been reading them every day that you have opened the Word of God. You have been sowing them every time you pray to your Holy Father in Heaven. And you will reap righteous fruit some day, if you will remember to plant only the seeds of righteousness.

So lets get down to the real power of this new way of life: Do you believe in God? Do you believe that Jesus is His Son and that He died for you and that God raised Him from the dead? Have you repented of your sins? Have you had those very sins washed away and have you put on Christ in the way that God commands - in the holy waters of baptism? Are you walking in the way that God has said to walk? Are you committed to do so for the rest of your life?

No?

Then, It Is Time!

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

The man who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction;

the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Galatians 6:8-9, NIV

Today is day 25 of the 30 day challenge to read through the books of the prophets of God, with Hosea 8-14 being the reading for today. May God richly bless you as you realize that it is time and as you begin to truly live a life that is worthy of the Master!
