Praise the LORD.

Praise the LORD, O my soul.

I will praise the LORD all my life.

Psalms 146:1-2, NIV

There is something vital to our very being about praising the LORD! It is something that we often forget, but it is as essential to our existence as food and water.

One of the great themes of the book of Psalms is the need to praise God. When David talks, this praise just seems to overflow.

He is happy. He is grateful. He is overwhelmed by the love the God has for him, and that he has for God. So he praises Him!

And we should too!

I will exalt you, My God the King;

I will praise Your name for ever and ever.

Every day I will praise You

and extol Your name for ever and ever.

Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;

a Psalm of David, Psalms 145:1-3, NIV
