Day 22: Unless the LORD Builds the House...
"Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand watch in vain."
Psalms 127:1-2, NIV
"Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God,
He gave them over to a depraved mind..."
Romans 1:28, NIV
In the news:
An American soldier body slams a corrupt police official for chaining a little boy to a bed and raping him for two weeks... and the American soldier is kicked out of the army for failing to honor the rapist's "human rights".
A woman making a half a million dollars a year patiently explains that her organization needs to receive tax payer money to continue killing babies so they can save lives... and the President and majority of both houses of congress seem to agree.
Across the ocean, radical Muslims behead and crucify Christians and take their girls to be sex slaves... and our leadership extols the virtue of their religion and tells us that we need to respect their culture.
In the last few years we have doubled the price of insurance... and called it affordable health care.
We have passed laws that God's name not be mentioned in our public schools... and say that it is to protect freedom of religion.
We wonder how things like this can happen because we really don't believe God when He promises that He will give us over to a depraved mind if we fail to acknowledge Him.
This is the face of depravity.
It is what happens when we do not permit the LORD to build our spiritual houses.
Maybe it is time to repent and to pray that those in positions of power also repent... or be removed by God from their positions of power so that we can be rescued from this spirit of depravity that is ruining our nation, our churches and our families.
"My eyes shed streams of tears, because men do not keep thy law.
Psalms 119:136, RSV
