"You cannot by any chance fail if you persevere."

Arnold Bennett

Some time ago, a dear, sweet woman posted the 30 Day Bible Challenge on her face book page with the question, "Can I do this?" This vital question goes to the very heart of all that we will do for God! Jesus said that if a man would follow Him that he must count the costs. That requirement has been one of the great keys in man's service to God throughout the ages.

So, can you do this?

Over a hundred years ago, Arnold Bennett wrote a short book entitled, "How to Live on 24 Hours a Day". In that book he pointed out some of the lengths that people will go to in order to afford the things that they really want, (like,"how to travel Europe on five dollars a day") even if they are on a very small budget. Mr. Bennett thought the idea was so good that he decided to show people how to live within the budget constraints of a 24 hour day. In doing so, he showed how we really have all the time we need to accomplish the things that we truly want to do if we will just consciously stop wasting time and start living intentionally rather than haphazardly.

Now you might think that this is tyranny - that a person like you should not have to live under the cruel taskmaster of the clock! But we are not talking about enslaving ourselves to time. We are talking about freeing ourselves from the clock in order to do the things we really want and need to do.

And we really need to read the Word of God, every day! The question is, do we want to?

We can do this!

"I can do all things in Him who strengthens me."

Philippians 4:13, RSV

"I long for thy salvation, O LORD, and Thy law is my delight."

Psalms 119:174, RSV

Today is day 17 of the Thirty Day Bible Challenge, and the reading for today is Romans 7-15. May God richly bless you in your pursuit of His will!
