Day 13: Jesus is Preached

                                                                                       FIRST, READ THE WORD

THEN CAREFULLY DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS

"And it shall be that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved"

Acts 2:21, RSV

"'Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.' Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brethren, what shall we do?' And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"

Acts 2:36-38, RSV

"And he testified with many other words and exhorted them, saying, 'Save yourselves from this crooked generation.' So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls."

Acts 2:40-41, RSV

"And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."

Acts 2:47, RSV

Did you notice that when Jesus is preached and people obey, that it is God who adds us to the church - the number of the saved?

Today is day 13 of the Thirty Day Bible Challenge. The readings are the 1st through the 8th chapters of the Acts of the Apostles. It tells all about their preaching, the church, and what it takes to be saved and live for Jesus. But don't take my word for it - why not read it for yourself and draw your own conclusions? You will be glad that you did!

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching..."

Acts 2:42, RSV
