Great Riches
I rejoice in following Your statutes,
as one rejoices in great riches.
Psalms 119:13, NIV
If you have been taking this newest of challenges, then you could probably write today's article, because for the past seven days, you have written down a verse from the 119th Psalm each day for a week and have carried it with you. Having done that, you have likely been made more aware of the precious nature of God's Word than you have ever been before. You have likely had many occasions throughout each day to pause and think about the great gift that is God's Word, and you may be wondering why you never saw it before.
If that is the case, then congratulations, because you have begun your path to true wealth - not one measured in dollars and cents, but a wealth measured in wisdom from the Creator of the universe. If you have been doing this already, then it is unlikely that you need further encouragement to continue, for you already know how much just one verse placed on your heart each day can totally change your outlook on life.
But if you haven't yet started, then let me urge you to just try it for one day, and then another day, and then another for a whole week.. Beginning tomorrow, instead of rushing headlong into your day without so much as a thought toward the One Who gave you that day, why not pause for a few moments to thank Him for today, to ask for His help, and to read just one verse from the 119th Psalm, write it down, and carry it with you.
It will only take you a couple of minutes, but it will make you rich, if you will let it.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word. Psalm 119,:8, NIV
